Brazil and Paraguay: Iguaçu falls, February 1973 and May 2003. Some of
the most spectacular waterfalls in the world lie at the junction of
Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay. The isolation of this region gave rise
to the unique Paranaense rainforest ecosystem, which supported
thousands of unique species. The image on the left shows early evidence
of deforestation. Thirty years later, right, the changes have been
dramatic
