Buenas, mando esta info sin traducirla porque si bien no creo que sea un requisito fundamental saber inglés, en la práctica es muy probable que lo sea. Para quienes se animen, está abierta la convocatoria.

Saludos,

Jeróimo

ACME Editorial Collective
Two Editorial Posts

The ACME Editorial Collective is looking for two new editors to join the collective.  The new editors will join a team of seven editors, including Harald Bauder, Lawrence Berg, David Butz, Caroline Desbiens, Salvatore Engel-di Mauro, and Sara Gonzalez.  We are particularly keen to appoint editors with expertise in critical race studies, queer theory, and/or feminist geographies.  However, we encourage applications from those with expertise in any aspect of critical geography.   It would be a plus if an applicant has the capacity to reach out to audiences (and authors) beyond the English-speaking, Anglo-American, academic world.

ACME is the leading online journal of geography, and is committed to open access publishing.  The journal’s website currently receives over 14,000 visits per month, with articles published in the journal downloaded more than 120,000 times each year.  Over the past two years submissions to the journal have more than doubled, and ACME now publishes about 24 articles per year in three issues per volume totaling about 400 pages.  The recent growth in the journal necessitates adding members to the editorial collective.

ACME is an on-line international journal for critical and radical analyses of the social, the spatial and the political. The journal's purpose is to provide a forum for the publication of critical and radical work about space in the social sciences - including anarchist, anti-racist, environmentalist, feminist, Marxist, non-representational, postcolonial, poststructuralist, queer, situationist and socialist perspectives. Analyses that are critical and radical are understood to be part of the praxis of social and political change aimed at challenging, dismantling, and transforming prevalent relations, systems, and structures of capitalist exploitation, oppression, imperialism, neo-liberalism, national aggression, and environmental destruction.

ACME Journal is committed to diversity, and the Collective encourages applications especially from women, aboriginal peoples, disabled people, and members of sexual and racial minorities.

Questions about the journal or these editorial posts may be directed to any members of the editorial collective, the contact details for which can be found on the ACME website: <http://www.acme-journal.org>.

Applications should be submitted by email to Lawrence D. Berg (at the address below) by August 15, 2008.  Applications should include curriculum vitae, a letter outlining how you might contribute to the editorial collective’s work with the journal, and the names and contact details for three academic referees that can write a reference letter in support of your application.
