part of its programme of expansion and development, the Department of Spanish
& Portuguese at Leeds invites applications for four posts, three on the
Lecturer A scale, and one either on the Lecturer B or Senior Lecturer scale, to
be based in the UK's largest School of Modern Languages and Cultures. The posts
are available from September 2006. One will be in the field of Spanish
Language and/or Translation Studies; Linguistics/Applied Linguistics; ELE
(Spanish as a Second Language); for the others, the field is open, within the
broad area of Iberian and Ibero- American Studies, but preference may be given
to those who can offer research and teaching specialisms in one or more of the
(Peninsular) Literature and Visual Culture
Latin American Studies (History/Society/Culture) (Hispanic and/or
* Portuguese and/or
Brazilian Studies (including Language Studies)
For appointment at
Lecturer B/Senior Lecturer you would normally be expected not only to be an
experienced teacher but also to have a significant publication record, together
with proven research experience, and proven administrative skills.
appointment at Lecturer A you will have a PhD in a relevant discipline, be
developing a publication profile appropriate for submission in the next RAE
exercise, and will be able to demonstrate effective teaching skills and a range
of delivery techniques and assessment methods.
