James Kus, chair of the Geography
Department at Fresno State, will once again lead a tour to Peru in June,
2002. Many of you may recall that Jim led tours to Peru's north coast and
the Colca Canyon as part of CLAG's meeting in Arequipa. This time, the
focus of the trip will be a little different from his past tours. There
will still be visits to = major archaeological sites in the Cusco area
(including overnight at = Machu Picchu) and such fascinating areas as the Colca
Canyon, but with the assistance of co-leader Ananda Aspen (educational
specialist for the Fresno Unified School District) there will be visits to a
number of schools in Cusco, Arequipa, and Ichupampa (on the north side of the
Colca Canyon).
The group will depart on June 7th and return to the U.S.
on June 20th (with a possible four day extension to the Nazca-Paracas area south
of Lima). Cost is $2950, based on a Fresno departure. For further
information contact Jim at 559-278-2797 or check out the website at
