Doctorate Students

A doctorate can be obtained at Erasmus University Rotterdam in a number of ways. As a member of staff at Erasmus University Rotterdam, or as an employee from outside the university, you can work on a thesis under the supervision of a professor at the university (supervisor). It is also possible to obtain a position as an AIO, the equivalent of a PhD student. AIOs have a 4-year contract with the university, which period can be devoted almost entirely to doing research for a doctoral thesis. PhD programmes are linked to the EUR research schools.
