Postgraduate
Studies:
Diplomas:

A Diploma in any of the above
specializations. The duration of study is
one academic year. It is equivalent to the
preliminary year for a master degree in
Arts. |

A Translation diploma. The duration of
study is one academic year. It does not qualify holders to register for postgraduate
degrees. |
Master Degrees:
Applicants for a Master degree in Arts
Master degree must successfully pass specialized diploma exams with an average grade
“Good”. The duration of study is a minimum of two years.
PhD Degrees:
Applicants for a PhD degree in
Arts must hold a Master degree with at least a
“Good” grade. Students have to submit a written thesis in the same specialization within at least two years of
registration.

Program
Beirut Arab University
(BAU) is a private institution of higher learning founded in 1960. The
university is academically affiliated to Alexandria University,
Alexandria, Egypt. The university is co-educational and women are admitted
to all faculties.The main objective of the university is to share in the
education of the Lebanese youth as well as those from the different Arab
Countries, and in the advancement of knowledge.
In 1960 the university
started with two faculties, Faculty of Arts was one of them.The first
class graduated from the Faculty was June 1964. The academic degrees are
awarded by Alexandria University upon the recommendation of the board of
Beirut Arab University.
The objective of the
Faculty of Arts is to provide its students with modern high standard
education. A proper balance between theoretical courses and applied
work is well established to provide the graduate with the knowledge to
pursue a professional career or for graduate study and continuing
education. The undergraduate curricula is adapted to the particular needs
and problems of Lebanon and the Arab Countries, and in the same time keeps
up with the latest development in the particular field of
study.
The Faculty of Arts offers programs of study
leading to the degree of B.A.,T.D., M.A. and Ph.D.
