QUEM OUVE O CLAMOR SOCIAL REFERENTE ÀS MUDANÇAS CLIMÁTICAS?

RESUMO

 

A propagação de discursos, idéias, movimentos que conclamam a sociedade para uma mudança de pensamento e de ações, para a consolidação de uma nova forma de conceber e planejar a relação homem versus natureza, ocorre há mais de cinqüenta anos, desde o fortalecimento do movimento ambientalista, na década de 1960. Essa propagação é reforçada por autores como Capra (1996), o qual defende a formação de um novo paradigma ambiental. Todavia, mesmo com todo o afã sociopolítico para com esta questão, a humanidade ainda não modificou significativamente as suas bases e o seu modelo de produção econômica, acelerando a evolução do processo de degeneração ambiental em escala global, sendo seu maior exemplo a figura do próprio aquecimento global antrópico. A maior vítima desta inércia será a população mundial, com a possível concretização das prognoses referentes ao surgimento dos futuros (não tão futuros) refugiados ambientais. Será que, mesmo com a humanidade apresentando um nível de poder tecnológico como nunca antes visto, a população mundial, em especial os mais pobres, sofrerá profundamente pela própria incapacidade e relutância desta humanidade em modificar conceitos e idéias do âmbito ambiental? E com a concretização dessa futura realidade dos refugiados ambientais, qual será a ação dessa mesma humanidade, que originou esse problema com suas escolhas?

ABSTRACT

 

The propagation of ideas and movements which calls the society for the changing of thoughts and actions, for the consolidation of a new way of conceiving and planning the relationship between human being versus nature, is reforced by other authors as Capra (1996), who says about the formation of a new ambiental paradigm. This movement occurs since approximately fifty years ago, since the consolidation of the environmental movement at the 1960´s. Although existing all the socialpolitical efforts for this question, the mankind did not change in fact its bases and models of economical production, and also the mankind did not stop the evolution of degeneration of the environment in global scale; the global warming is a best example of this situation. The major victim of this inertia will be our population, with the likely concretization of the prognoses concerning the far (not so far) environmental refugees. Could the global population, especially the poorest, suffer deeply because its own inability and reluctance in changing environmental concepts and ideas, even if the mankind shows a great developed technological power? Secondly, with the existence of environmental refugees, what will be the action of the mankind that created this problem because its choices?
