* PLEASE NOTE: The report "could" contain "Pirate/SLIM" operations or
more likely a "BUSTED CALLSIGN". As always, you never know - "Work
  First Worry Later" (WFWL).

4X411, ISRAEL (Intertesting Item Of The Week!). The "Holyland DX Group"
will operate as 4X411A on December 23-24th from the "Lowest Dry Point"
on the Globe. From minus (-) 411 meters Below Sea Level in the middle
of the Dead Sea, operators will use the special callsign and run two
complete stations with one power amplifier on 80-10 meters, on CW and
SSB starting at 0700z Friday, December 23rd. The group had/has received
special permission from the Dead Sea Works Factory. Operators mentioned
are: Shalom/4Z4BS, Mark/4Z4KX, Ros/4Z5LA, Ruben/4Z5FI, Ilya/4Z1UF and
Jan/4X1VF. QSL via 4Z4BS. Visit Web page at:
http://www.4z5la.net/4x411a

6W, SENEGAL. Dani, EA4ATI, is back in Africa again, this time in Dakar,
Senegal. He informs OPDX that he received the licence 6W/EA4ATI and also
mentioned that he will be on the air for the next ARRL 10m Contest as
6W1EA. Dani states that he will be here until June-July (he is working
there now). We asked him what bands he would be on and he replied stating,
"For now I have a three element yagi beam antenna for 10-15-20, but soon
I will set up the dipoles for the other bands (40-80-160 and WARC bands)."
QSL via direct to his home callsign EA4ATI.

6W, SENEGAL. Tibi, HA7TM, will be active as 6W/HA7TM from the QTH of
6W7RV located in Le Caola, Senegal, December 15-22nd. Activity will be
HF, mainly CW and SSB, possibly RTTY. QSL via home call, direct or by
the bureau.

C9, MOZAMBIQUE (Update/Looking For Operators). Frosty, K5LBU, reports that
so far there are 3 operators going with him to Mozambique in July 2006.
They plan on arriving in Maputo, Mozambique, on June 29th and depart on
July 13th. They plan on having 2 complete stations set up and running the
whole time. One for CW and one for SSB. They will also have a station set
up for RTTY and PSK. They are planning to be active in the IARU Contest
the weekend of July 8-9th with one CW and one SSB station. Frosty mentions
that he just returned from Mozambique and Swaziland on November 26th after
looking at a very good site at Praia do Bilene which is on the coast about
80 miles north of Maputo. He states that they will have the stations set
up in a cabin that has 3 rooms so they can put the CW and PSK/RTTY station
in one and the SSB in the other. They will also have 2 trailer mounted
towers set up along with the 72 foot vertical for 160-80 meters which also
works on 30 meters quite well. There will be four 40 meters sloping dipoles
on each tower that work very well also. Daniel, ZS6JR, is also planning to
set up an EME station so they can also try that mode. Frosty states, "So
are there any more that would like to join us and make this trip? We will
have at least two more 2 bed room cabins and can get a third if more
operators join with us." If interested in joining their team, please
contact Frosty via E-mail at:
frosty1@pdq.net

FT5XO KERGUELEN ISLAND VIDEO IS OUT! James, 9V1YC, informed OPDX this past
week that the FT5XO Kerguelen DVD is finished and is now available at the
following Web page at:
http://www.dxvideos.com/ft5xovideo.htm
What a great Christmas gift for DXers! Witness the Microlite Penguins
DXpedition team leave home for 6 weeks and travel to this icy, windswept
island aboard the famous R/V Braveheart. Sailing to new extremes in the
South Indian Ocean, and again using the "low power-vertical antenna"
approach, join the Microlite Penguins DXpedition team as they battle
through the seas and the pileups from yet another remote Antarctic
destination! Video is digitally filmed and edited, and mastered to
Digital Betacam in Stereo. Look for OPDX to publish a review on the
DVD as soon as it is received.

HS0 & XU7, THAILAND AND CAMBODIA. By the time you read this, Pete, SM5GMZ,
should be back in Thailand again and be active as HS0ZFI until December
31st. His activity will be limited due to work, but he will operate during
his spare time. Operations will be on CW, SSB, PSK31 and RTTY, probably on
all permitted bands. Also, look for Pete to be active as XU7ADI for at
least two months starting January 6th. Activity will be on on all bands
and 6 meters. Modes should be the same.

QSL INFO AND NEWS...................
POSTAGE GOING UP (Other Reminder). Charlie, W0YG, wants to remind
everyone that postal rates, both domestic and international, increase
after the first of the year. Many stations, including overseas stations,
that sent just an SASE do not have sufficient postage to guarantee a
return of VK9XG and VK9CG cards. Charlie states, "I am trying to weed
down the VK9XG stack as much as I can now but I will not have the VK9CG
cards until after the postal increase goes into effect. It is tough to
subsidize the entire trip and the QSL cards and have to face subsidizing
postage too. I am sure this caught many by surprise, especially our
overseas friends.  However the fact remains if I drop a SAE in the mail
with user installed 80 cents airmail postage, I am not sure it will get
to them as there is some chance involved."

Ralph, K2PF, informs OPDX that he will be handling QSL cards for the
   recent 4O3AA activity.

Martin, OL5Y/OK1FUA, operated IS0N during 2005 CQ WW DX CW Contest. QSL
   via OK1MG.

LOTW NEWS. Several sources are reporting that the "Lookbook of The
World" (LoTW) is scheduled to become accessible for the "Worked All
States" (WAS) award by early January at the latest. Also, it is
anticipated that still additional ARRL as well as non-ARRL award
programs will be available through the LoTW later this year.

NEW MANAGER. Gert, K5WW, informs OPDX that effective immediately, he
will be Tom, CX7TT's, QSL Manager. QSL direct (with SASE/GS/IRC),
by the bureau or LoTW is accepted.

NOT THE MANAGER. Joe, WDŘM, reports receiving QSLs for KG4FK, and
would like to report that he is not the QSL Manager.

QSL PQ7Q via PY7VI. Activity was by a group of PY7 operators during
the ARRL 160m Contest from Olinda Lighthouse (ARLHS BRA-068 and DFB
   PE-004).

UA4WHX OPERATIONS QSLS STATUS. VLADIMIR, UA4WHX/5H3VMB, currently in
Zanzibar, Tanzania, informed OPDX that he would like to answer a number
of questions being raised by hams regarding his QSLing and would like
to advise them of the following:
     1. ALL DIRECT REQUESTS RECEIVED FOR PACIFIC OPERATIONS HAVE BEEN
        ANSWERED.
     2. THE PACIFIC BURO REQUESTS ARE BEING PROCESSED AND ANSWERED NOW.
     3. IF SOMEONE BELEIVES THAT HE HAS NOT RECEIVED HIS REQUESTED CARD,
CONATACT EITHER ME OR MY MANAGER (HE IS AT
UA4WHXAA@UDM.RU)
DIRECTLY TO SEE WHAT THE STATUS OF THE QSLS IS.
IMPORTANT: WE ANSWER ALL VALID REQUESTS. SOME QSLS APPEAR TO HAVE
BEEN LOST ON THE WAY BACK. DO CONTACT US IF THIS IS YOUR CASE. AND
QUIT SAYING UA4WHX DOES NOT QSL.
     4. AFRICA OPERATIONS WILL BE ANSWERED ALL TOGETHER AFTER THE TRIP IS
        OVER.

I HOPE THAT HELPS. 73, VLADIMIR BYKOV, UA4WHX/5H3VMB

   QSL YB1JZS via OK1DOT: Petr Gustab, P.O. Box 52, CESKY BROD 282 01,
Czech Republic. QSL cards received by bureau are answered via bureau.
Cards received directly with SAE and 1 USD/IRC will be answered
directly (do not send old IRCs please).

QSL INFO NEEDED for the recent ZF1A operation during the 2005 CQWW DX
CW Contest. There seems to be some confusion on the route. It looks
like all indications point via W6VNR (direct).

T30, WESTERN KIRIBATI. Finnish operators Ari/OH6DX, Veko/OH1AWW, Veijo/
OH6KN and Jouko/OH1RX will once again return to the Pacific (for the
fourth time) and operate from Tarawa (OC-017), West Kiribati, January
5-22nd. The group will be active as T30DX and focus mainly on the lower
bands, 160-30 meters, and look for Europe and the U.S. East Coast stations.
They plans to have two or three stations on CW, SSB and RTTY. Suggested
frequencies (-/+ QRM) are:
   CW  - 1822, 3503, 7003, 10108, 14008, 18068, 21008, 24898, 28008 kHz

T8, PALAU. Hide, JM1LJS, plans to be active as T80W from Palau (OC-009),
March 18-21st. Activity will be on all bands. QSL via JM1LJS (QRZ.com).

TT8, CHAD. Philippe, F4EGS, will return here on December 25th and stay
until the end of February 2006, and again from May to July 2006. He is
there on Military assignments. He will once again use the callsign TT8PK.
Look for him on 20/15/10 meters using a FT100 and a MA5V antenna. If
Philippe can get a Cushcraft R7 or R8 antenna on loan, he will be active
on 40-10 meters. He will be on the digital modes and maybe SSB. To
indicate to Philippe what bands you need Chad on, send an E-mail to:

kochp@wanadoo.fr
QSL via F4EGS. He will answer the QSLs when he return to Metropolitan,
France.
