GO-Mars with AMSAT-DL's P5A-Mission
Nach inzwischen drei erfolgreichen Phase-3-Missionen unter Leitung der
AMSAT- DL hat der letzte, im Jahr 2000 gestartete Satellit P3D gezeigt, dass mit
der vorhandenen Struktur und Antriebsleistung ein Flug zum Mars möglich ist. Die
Raumsonde soll sowohl Daten von Experimenten an Bord von P5A, als auch in einer
Relaisfunktion von Systemen auf der Marsoberfläche oder der Planetenatmosphäre
übermitteln. P5A soll auch Platz für Nutzlasten bieten, die in Marsnähe Richtung
Oberfläche abgesetzt werden können. Geeignete Startfenster zum Mars sind für die
Jahre 2007 und 2009 gegeben.
After already three successfull Phase 3 missions under leadership of
AMSAT-DL the latest satellite P3D launched in 2000 demonstrated sufficient bus
and propulsion capabilities for a flight to Mars. This spacecraft will transmit
scientific data to Earth - data from experiments on-board P5A as well as - via
its repeater function - from experiments on the Martian surface or the planet's
atmosphere. P5A will carry in addition subpayloads to be released in direction to
the Martian surface. Suitable launch windows to Mars are in the years 2007 and
2009.
