Marathon [425DXN 729], CQ Amateur Radio has announced the introduction of
the
"iDX Award," the third and final piece of its three-part
"Waking Up DXing"
program designed to encourage more DXing activity
among ham radio operators.
The CQ iDX Award recognizes
confirmed contacts with 25 to 100 different
countries
("entities") made using remote bases or repeaters linked with Voice
over
Internet Protocol (VoIP) networks, such as IRLP or
Echolink, and is
aimed at developing a DXing "mindset" among newer
hams. Contacts for the new
award may be made beginning January 1, 2006.

Lastrucci, IZ5FSA has developed a software which allows to query
the
425 DX News Archive maintained on www.ariscandicci.it
from the PacketCluster.
The command is SH/425 [text], where [text] should be
replaced with a callsign,
a IOTA Reference number, Island name, Antarctica
Base, Lighthouse, etc.
