 Dear Sirs:

The Pan American Institute of Geography and History (PAIGH), a specialized agency of the Organization of American States, was created in 1928.  Sine it was founded, the following were established as its main objectives:

ˇ        To encourage, coordinate and publicize cartographical, geophysical, geographical and historical studies as well as other related scientific studies of interest to the Americas.

ˇ        To promote and carry out studies, work and training in the aforementioned fields of activity.

ˇ        To promote cooperation among organizations interested in the fields of activity in the Americas, and with related international organizations.

To disseminate those studies the PAIGH presently publishes four semi-annual journals (Revista de Historia de América, Revista Geográfica, Revista Geofísica and Revista Cartográfica,) and three annual journals (Revista de Arqueología Americana, Boletín de Antropología Americana and Folklore Americano) besides a diversity of monographic titles (atlases, guides, handbooks, charts, glossaries, thematic studies, etc.) on these study areas.

The journals are composed of articles with the results of research done by the main specialists in each area in the nations of the Americas.  We cordially invite you to visit our web page www.ipgh.org.mx within the Publications section, the periodical publications, where you will be able to consult the contents and abstracts of the latest 10 issues published, and in the section of occasional publications, the monographic titles.

All the publications are available for sale in the headquarters of the General Secretariat of PAIGH in Mexico City (orders can be placed worldwide).  If you would like to have information on the publications, please contact with our Sales Department, Phone: (52-55) 5515-1910 / 5277-5791 / 5277-5888; fax: (52-55) 5271-6172; airmail and/or e-mail: felipegr@ipgh.org.mx  and/or secgeral@ipgh.org.mx.  We will be pleased to provide you with the necessary information and/or fill your orders.
