MAC Symposium  (2.5 day) - "Alkaline Igneous Systems:

Dissecting Magmatic to Hydrothermal Mineralizing Processes"

Organizers: David R. Lentz    (UNB), André Lalonde (UofO), Stefano Salvi (LMTG, Toulouse), & Jeanne Paquette (McGill)

 

This will be complimented by a post-meeting, 2.5 day field trip to various parts of the Monteregian Hills near Montreal, including the Oka carbonatite, Mont St. Hilaire, Mont Royal, and various diatreme breccias (allikite/alnoite) to peralkalic dikes in the region.  Also, it will be preceded by a  2 day premeeting MAC Short Course on "Melt Inclusions in Plutonic Rocks" organized by Jim Webster (American Museum of Natural History).
