COLLEGE OF AGRICULTURE AND ENVIRONMENTAL
|The College of Agriculture is one of the three colleges
of Amoud University. As one of the principle units in the university, it
maintains a three-part program |

community service. The teaching part of the college's program aims at
contributing to the nation's need for specialists in agriculture and
related fields. It is a rapidly developing program which seeks to
establish those conditions that enable each student to develop all of

While still in a
development stage, the research function of the college of Agriculture is
a growing enterprise that touches on all aspects of rural life in Somalia.
The third part of this program, the professional and community
services which the college performs, is not only available to the Awdal
Region, but also to
Somalia at large. While most of these services
have to do either consulting and extension work, college also provides
practical help in production of fruits,
vegetables, crops, and
forage,as well as in soil reclamation and conservation, farm
mechanization, food and dairy technology, marine resources, rural
sociology, plant protection, poultry and animal production, landscape
horticulture, family affairs, and environmental pollution.
The academic and
administrative structure of the College of Agriculture is designed to
guarantee flexibility and responsiveness designed to each student's
educational needs. The Dean, who is the chief executive of the college is
responsible to the President and Vice President, as well as to the
University Council, for all plans, programs, and day-to-day operations of
the college. Assisting him/her with his/her duties are the College
