The aim of the project is to conjugate different areas as database technology, contrastive linguistics, and student-centred didactics. The main product will be a new type of language informatics application, that enables teachers to create complex cue-card games to be used in class for oral production. The product will be in five languages (ES, DE, IT, PL, HU) and will be based on teacher’s interaction with a database of linguistic and iconic inputs indexed according to internal and contrastive criteria.
Through a friendly interface, teachers will be able to select or add linguistic information relevant to class objectives, adapt the cue-cards according to gender, age, number and mother tongue of pupils. Three different games will be developed. The application tool will automatically create the cue-card set through mathematical algorithms which contain distributing principles and game rules. Cue-cards will be printable. Contrastive Criteria used will be published for further research.
The product reinforces the relationship between teachers and IT by proportioning a useful tool with organised but adaptable linguistic inputs, helping the teacher to strategically plan class activities. The partnership sees the contribution of different educational Institutions working at different levels, and companies related to the informatics engineering and publishing worlds.
